Let’s end COVID! is a group of concerned people in Northcentral PA working to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic through public education, outreach and mitigation.

Our membership includes leaders in the fields of medicine, public health, the faith community, education, business, and public policy. Although we come from a variety of perspectives, we share a non-partisan desire to implement solutions to this public health crisis that has devastated the lives of so many families in Lycoming County.

How to Reduce the Spread of COVID

We have identified, and are working to implement several efforts that we believe will reduce the spread of COVID in our community, including increasing access to high-quality masks, increasing COVID testing, and most importantly educating the community about vaccinations.

Our recent education efforts have included outreach to the community about the ways that changes in behavior and vaccination can help protect vulnerable members of the community: writing for the Williamsport Sun-Gazette; producing radio and TV PSAs; compiling and distributing twice weekly updated lists of local vaccine, mask and test providers; creating informational flyers and piloting distribution as bag inserts at pharmacies and to United Churches ministers;  designing electronic and standard billboards, posters, yard signs, and social media graphics; and creating a video to play on the jumbo screen at River Valley Transit bus depot.

The most pressing issue at this point is to encourage members of our community to get vaccinated, with the goal of safely fully opening our schools, restaurants and other businesses. We believe public education is key to engage with those who are hesitant to get the vaccine. With new variants spreading, this is the time to combat the vaccine hesitancy and risk denial among our population. The three COVID vaccines are all highly effective and safe in preventing hospitalization!
